Biedershausen

Biedershausen is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Wallhalben.

Geography

Biedershausen is on the Sickinger Höhe. To the east is Wallhalben, south winter creek and the west Krahenberg. From the district area 70 percent is used for agriculture, another 22 percent are forest (as of 2011 ).

History

The place was first mentioned in the year 1315.

Biedershausen belonged to the end of the 18th century the Duchy of Pfalz- Zweibrücken and was subordinate to the chief official Zweibrücken. After the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine by French revolutionary troops (1794 ) the place from 1798 to 1814 belonged to the canton of Homburg in the department of Thunder Mountain. In 1802 Biedershausen had including the northern Pletsch mill 164 inhabitants, 159 were Reformed and Lutherans 27.

Taken in response to the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) Agreements and a shot between Austria and Bavaria contract came the Palatinate in 1816 the Kingdom of Bavaria.
