Big Hat

The Nagano -shi Wakasato Tamokuteki Sports Arena (Japanese長野 市 若里 多目的 スポーツ アリーナ, Nagano -shi Wakasato tamokuteki supōtsu Arina, German " multi-purpose sports arena Wakasato, Nagano ") was for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Wakasato district in Nagano, Japan built. On March 31, 1995, the stadium was the first competition venue of the upcoming games handed over to the city and eventually opened on 10 December of the same year. It is also known by its original name Ice Hockey A preliminary Kaijo (アイス ホッケーA会场, Aisu Hokke A Kaijo, German " Hockey Hall A") and because of its shape as Big Hat (ビッグ ハット, German " big hat " ) known.

The arena has three spectator stands, providing a total of 10,104 visitors place an installable Hockey surface according to rules of the World Hockey Association IIHF (61 × 30 m ) and an ultra-modern for its time computer system to control the ice temperature.

In addition to the Hockey Hall A, Hall B Hockey was built, which was nicknamed the Aqua Wing.
