Biju Janata Dal

Biju Janata Dal ( BJD, Oriya: ବିଜୁ ଜନତା ଦଳ ) is an Indian party, which is present mainly in the state of Odisha. The choice of characters is a shell.

History

It was founded in founded on December 27, 1997 by Naveen Patnaik, son of the eponymous former Chief Minister of Orissa Biju Patnaik. This is party chairman and split from the Janata Dal party, as they did not want to take the agreed coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party. From 1998 to 2009, the Biju Janata Dal was a member of the BJP -led National Democratic Alliance party alliance. Since 2009 it is located in the left-wing United National Progressive Alliance. The party is regarded as socially liberal and social-democratic and settles in the political center.

Seats

In the state of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen leads with Patnaik to the government. In the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, they currently have 14 seats and the upper house, the Rajya Sabha holds 4 seats.
