Bike-to-Work Day

Bike to Work is an annual campaign to promote cycling in Switzerland. The aim of the campaign is that commuters on the way to work increasingly look to the bike. Bike to Work is an action of Pro Velo Switzerland and takes place in the month of June.

The idea and concept of Bike to work are used in a similar way worldwide. In Germany, for example, under the name of cycling to work.

History

In 2005, Bike to Work was launched as a pilot project. At that time the 20 Migros enterprises in part with a total of 1,600 employees. Since 2006, the national action is open to all Swiss companies. In 2012, the first time took more than 1,400 companies participate with almost 50,000 workers.
