Bilabial clicks

A bilabial click is a Schnalzlaut.

The volume arises from the fact that in the mouth, oral chamber is formed: With tongue back on velum and lips, a closure is formed in each case ( See: plosive ). By dissolving the primary ( bilabial ) closure air flows into the oral cavity before the velar closure. The result is a sound that is used in! XOo as phoneme. Clicking sounds are among the ingressiven sounds.

Bilabial clicks are sometimes mistakenly equated with air kisses. However, during said sounds - in contrast to kiss - not her lips pursed and they sound more like a lip-smacking.
