Bill Easley

Bill Easley ( born 1943 in New York City ) is an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist.

Life and work

Bill Easley studied in the 1960s at Memphis State University. At the beginning of his musical career, he worked with Isaac Hayes and participated in panel sessions of the Stax label with. Easley then returned to New York, worked 1968/70 with George Benson and was a sideman on recordings by Jimmy Smith. In the 1980s, he took some albums under his own name for the jazz label Sunnyside and Milestone, where he was accompanied by musicians such as Mulgrew Miller, Tony Reedus, Sir Roland Hanna, and Grady Tate. It stands out especially his album " Easley Done", which was published in Evidence Records in 1994 and at the Ron Carter, George Coleman and Billy Higgins participated. He was also involved in its productions of James Williams, Bill Mobley, Grady Tate, George Caldwell, Victor Gaskin and Billy Higgins.
