Bill Inmon

William Harvey "Bill" Inmon ( born July 20, 1945 in San Diego, California) is an American computer scientist. He is considered the " father of data warehousing " and in this area is an internationally recognized consultant, speaker and author.

Life and work

He developed the concept of the information factory (Corporate Information Factory, CIF ) and, more recently, the "Government Corporate Information Factory ". He has more than 35 years of experience in the field of database management and data warehouse design. Bill Inmon is the author of 45 books that have been published for the most part in nine languages. He founded several companies - 1991 the company Prism Solutions, which he brought to the market, and 1995 Pine Cone Systems (now AMBEO ). In 1999 he was co-founder of BILLINMON.COM, a site devoted to Data Warehousing and Corporate Information Factory, which is aimed at professionals and decision makers. Bill Inmon advises many Fortune 100 customers.

He completed a degree in mathematics from Yale University and also graduated from the New Mexico State University with a Master of Science degree in computer science.
