Bill Lochead

Bill Lochead ( born October 13, 1954 in Forest, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach and currently as a player consultant active.

Career

Lochead began his career in 1971 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals. After his first season was plagued by injuries, he was able to convince in the next two years. Through these services, the Detroit Red Wings to which he eventually switched attention to season 1974/75 on him.

As a rookie in the NHL, he scored 16 goals. In the following seasons, he was able to improve its performance. After a two -month-long injury break he could not retrieve his achievements from previous years. That's why it put the Red Wings on the waiver list. From there he was in season 1978/79 committed by the Colorado Rockies. There played the remaining 26 games of the season and then moved to the New York Rangers. With the Rangers, he completed seven NHL games and was mainly at the New Haven Nighthawks of the American Hockey League active.

At the beginning of the 1980/81 season he committed the Cologne Sharks. After 17 games, he was transferred to the ESV Kaufbeuren. He finished the season with 43 ​​goals in 39 games. In the summer he went to EC Bad Nauheim. Despite his 66 goals and 34 assists his team failed to qualify for the playoffs. Thanks to his performance, he was elected most valuable player in the league. After the season, he went to the Eagles Mannheim, where he played until 1984 and then returned to EC Bad Nauheim. Except for two brief engagements with the EHC Chur in Switzerland, and the Vienna Capitals in Austria, he stood up to end of his career in 1988 at EC Bad Nauheim in the squad.

Coaching career

After his career end Lochead decided to work as a coach. He coached among others, the Ratingen Lions, Frankfurt Lions, the Kassel Huskies and the EHC Wolfsburg. His coaching career ended as assistant coach in Frankfurt. Today he is a Player's agent and lives in Upper Moerlen near Frankfurt am Main.
