Bill Mechanic

William M. Mechanic ( * 1950 in the U.S.), also known as Bill M. Mechanic, is an American film producer and film professor.

As a studio head of Fox Filmed Entertainment 20th Century Fox from 1993 to 2000 Mechanic was responsible for the production of films such as William Shakespeare's Romeo Juliet, 1996, The Thin Red Line, in 1999, and James Cameron's Titanic, 1997. Since 2000, he has his own film production company, Pandemonium Pictures, which works closely with Walt Disney. This makes it one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood.

Bill Mechanic is a professor of film at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles ( USC School of Cinematic Arts ).

2001 Mechanic was chairman of the Berlinale jury.
