Bill Posey

William " Bill" Posey ( born December 18, 1947 in Washington DC) is an American politician. Since 2009 he represents the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1956, Bill Posey came with his father, who got a job at NASA, to Florida. Until 1966 he attended Cocoa High School and thereafter until 1969, the Brevard Community College. From 1974 to 1976 he also worked for NASA. He then worked in the Planning Commission of the city Rockledge. In this city he was also a member of the municipal council. Between 1986 and 1992 he was a member of the Commission for the Promotion of geschaftlichen and industrial development in Brevard County. In the 1970s, Posey also worked in the real estate industry.

Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1992 and 2000 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Florida from 2000 to 2008 he was a member of the State Senate. He sat down after the events in the 2000 presidential election for an improvement of the electoral system in Florida a. He also joined for an improvement of the insurance industry in terms of a natural disaster such as hurricanes.

In the congressional elections of 2008, he was elected in the 15th electoral district of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Dave Weldon on January 3, 2009. After a re-election in the congressional elections of 2010 he can exercise his mandate in Congress today. His current term of office runs until January 3, 2013. Posey is a member of the Finance Committee and in two of its subcommittees.
