Bille Brown

William Gerard " Bille " Brown; AM ( born January 11, 1952 in Biloela, Queensland, † January 13, 2013 in Chermside in Brisbane, Queensland) was an Australian film and stage actor.

Life

After schooling Bille Brown studied from 1969 to 1971 Theatre Studies at the University of Queensland. He received his Bachelor of Arts. A short time later, in 1971, he collected in the Queensland Theatre Company first experience as an actor - at his side the later Australian Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush.

In 1976, Brown to England, where he became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC ) and initially worked in Stratford- upon- Avon and later in London on stage. 1981 Brown was the first Australian actor to his own play, the pantomime piece The Swan Down Gloves, sat in the conservative British RSC in scene. He also went abroad on tour and played at theaters in Paris, Munich, Berlin and Vienna.

1982 Brown moved to the United States, where he was Artist in Residence at the State University of New York. In 1984 he celebrated in the play A Christmas Carol on Broadway premiere. In the coming years, Brown often changed his place of residence and place of action and lived in New York City, but also in London and Sydney. It was only in 1996, Brown has moved his permanent residence to Australia; he lived in Ascot in the state of Queensland.

Brown began compared to other actors to work relatively late as a film actor; the first film in which he was to see the comedy film Wilde was creatures from the year 1997. According to a supporting role in Oscar and Lucinda, also in 1997, he stood for the 1999 Australian television series Big Sky before the camera. Followed by appearances in television and short films, which were mainly popular in Australia. He found international attention in 2010 when he Chronicles of Narnia a major role in the fantasy film: The Voyage of the Dawn personified.

2011 Brown was a member of the Order of Australia.

Bille Brown died two days after his 61st birthday, on January 13, 2013, of colon cancer.
