Billingen

The mountain Billingen is the largest in the west of Sweden mesas. It is located in the historic province of Västergötland in the center of the Skaraborg region between the lakes Vänern and Vättern. The mountain, which extends from north to south, has a length of 23 kilometers, a width of 11 kilometers and reaches a height of 299 meters above sea level.

The mountain is covered by a 40 meter thick Diabasschicht what prevented his removal during the last ice age. These include layers of shale, limestone, alum shale, which is uranhaltig, and sandstone are (from top to bottom).

It is divided by a valley that runs in an east-west direction of Skövde after Varnhem, in two parts. On the plateau there are extensive forests and moorlands, among other things, the nature reserve are Blängsmossen with a unique flora.

The Bill Ingen is a popular tourist destination. There is a hotel with restaurant, ski, cross-country skiing (from 2.5 up to 15 km ), a bandy field. In the summer, hosts regular orienteering on the Bill Ingen. The trails are used for jogging, here is the pool of Skövde. From different vantage points of the city Skövde and the environment are clearly observed. There are also hiking trails that run on paved roads, but also on non-fixed paths.

The cemetery is located south of Amundtorp Varnhem and on the west side of Bill Ingen.
