Billund is located in South Jutland and is the second largest town in Billund Municipality, Denmark. The population is, according to Bureau of Statistics 6155 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).
Billund is known by the seat of the Danish toy manufacturer LEGO and the theme park Legoland.
Geography
Billund is located approximately 13 kilometers from Grindsted, 56 miles from Esbjerg and 27 kilometers from the regional capital Vejle.
Traffic
The city has an international airport with a 3,100 meter long runway. Billund Airport is the second largest airport in Denmark with the IATA code BLL. According to the company, the airport had more than 2.2 million passengers in 2009. The former railway station of the city lay on the railway line Vejle Grindsted, it was closed down in 1957, today buses connect to the nearest railway station on the railway line in Vejle Århus - Fredericia.
Sculpture trail Billund
The Municipality of Billund has a nationally respected sculpture trail, which connects the area of entertainment Lalandia with the city center.
