Billy-Berclau
Billy Berclau is a commune with 4433 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Pas -de- Calais, in the Nord -Pas -de- Calais in the arrondissement of Béthune.
Geography
Billy Berclau lies between the cities Lens and Lille. On the eastern edge of the village there is the junction of the Canal d' Aire from the Canal de la Deûle.
History
The village was completely destroyed in World War II.
On 27 March 2003 an explosion claimed four dead at a local plant explosives.

Economy and population
The community has a very strong local -based manufacturing industries (including an engine factory with around 6,000 employees).
