Billy Blanks

Billy Blanks ( born September 1, 1955 in Erie, Pennsylvania) is an American martial artist, trainer and actor. He is known for his action movies, and he developed training method Tae Bo.

Blanks grew up poor on the fourth of fifteen children. Early age of 11 he became interested in martial arts and began to train. During his high school years he met his current wife, Gayle, with whom he has two children. Despite a learning disability and hip problems Billy managed to become one of the world's most successful martial artist.

He participated in martial arts competitions and won first time in 1975 the title of "Amateur Athletic Union Champion". He could win them over five times this award. Billy Blanks practiced various martial arts and quickly became champion in karate and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do also worked on in boxing, he was very successful and won many titles, such as that of the " Golden Gloves Champion" in 1984 in Massachusetts.

He coached the U.S. national team in karate and won this through his support of 36 gold medals. Motivated by his success, he opened his first karate studio in Boston.

The mid-1980s called Billy Blanks Tae Bo into his life, and he later developed the workout " Billy's Boot Camp ".
