Billy Crudup

Billy Crudup ( born July 8, 1968 in Manhasset, Long Iceland, New York) is an American film and theater actor.

Professional career

Crudup graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale and made his master's degree in Fine Arts at New York University. First Awards received Crudup for his performances on Broadway in the play Arcadia by Tom Stoppard. His screen career began in 1996 with a role in Woody Allen's musical movie Everyone Says: I love you. In Sleepers by Barry Levinson, he played in the same year an abused in childhood boy who comes later on the straight and narrow, making it internationally noticed a wider audience.

His great talent and skill proves Billy Crudup since then repeatedly by the representation of different characters, such as a rock star Russell Hammond in Cameron Crowe's film Almost Famous - Almost Famous.

In 2007 he received a Tony Award as Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Broadway play The Coast of Utopia, also by Tom Stoppard.

Private

From 1996 to 2003 he was romantically involved with actress Mary -Louise Parker, with whom he has a son. During the filming of Stage Beauty in 2003, he met the actress Claire Danes know, for he left Parker. They separated in 2006.
