Billy DeVore

Louis "Billy" Devore ( born September 12, 1910 in St. John, Kansas; † August 12, 1985 in Indianapolis, Indiana) was an American race car driver.

He was the son of the well-known before the Second World War racing driver Earl Devore and his wife Ann. The family was on board the passenger steamer Vestris, as this went down in November 1928 in the Atlantic. Mother and son survived the father came to.

After he had participated several times 1937-1948 at the Indianapolis 500, he tried in vain to qualify in 1950 and 1954 for the then scoring the Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship race.
