Billy Joe Royal

Billy Joe Royal ( born April 3, 1942 in Valdosta, Georgia ) is an American singer.

History

Even as a child, after he had seen Elvis Presley in " Tommy Dorsey Show", which also mixed various styles such as pop, country and R & B, he felt that he wanted to earn his living with music. He made his debut at age eleven in a radio show of his uncle. In high school he was then at the age of 16 his own rock and roll band.

He became famous with the Top Ten hit Down in the Boondocks (1965 ), which as well as the singles I Knew You When ( Top 20, 1965) and Hush ( 1967) by Joe South was written and produced. His single Cherry Hill Park in 1969 reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the late 1960s he performed regularly in Las Vegas and he also had minor appearances as an actor, but mainly.
