Billy Miske

Billy Miske ( born April 12, 1894 in St. Paul, † January 1, 1924; native William Arthur Miske ) was an American boxer German origin, punched to the heavyweight title against Jack Dempsey.

Career

Miske began in 1913 in the middleweight division with the boxes. It had its heyday in the light heavyweight division in 1917 when he twice beat Jack Dillon, Battling Levinsky but was defeated. Gunboat Smith in 1918, he defeated twice. Against Dempsey he also punched twice in 1918, the first time in a draw, the second time he lost on points. Fireman Jim Flynn he beat in the second round knockout, the middleweight star Harry Greb was defeated in 1918 and 1919.

In the light heavyweight he could never about the World Cup but boxes of fresh baked heavyweight champion Dempsey gave him a shot at the title, and added him in 1920 the only knockout loss of his career.

Won against Tommy Gibbons and he lost in 1922, Fred Fulton, he knocked out in the first round. Heavy suffering from a kidney disease he beat Bill Brennan 1923 KO.

Shortly thereafter, he died.

2010 took Miske induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
