Billy Ray (screenwriter)

Billy Ray is an American screenwriter and director.

Life

Ray occurs since the early 1990s as a screenwriter for film and television in appearance. Middle of the decade was based on his ideas, the short-lived television series Earth 2

In 2003, Ray was with thriller Shattered Glass his directorial debut, and he also wrote the screenplay. For this he was nominated at the Independent Spirit Awards in 2004 for Best Screenplay. Followed in 2007 with Breach - betrayal at the highest level his second film as a director. Also that he was involved as a screenwriter.

For his screenplay for Captain Phillips Ray was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2014 for an Oscar in the category. In addition, he received at the British Academy Film Awards 2014 in the category also Adapted Screenplay nomination.
