Bimaculated Lark

Features

It is a large and robust acting lark that reached a size 16 to 18 centimeters. It weighs 47-62 grams. The wingspan is 33-41 centimeters.

Occurrence

It breeds in warm temperate countries of Central Anatolia, Israel and Syria to Iran and parts of Central Asia to the West of China. Unlike the Calandra she prefers more mountainous regions and high altitudes.

They wintered mainly in North Africa, the Middle East and India and is outside the breeding season, a very sociable bird.

This bird lives in rocky semi-deserts and greater heights.

Nutrition

The diet consists of seeds and insects, the latter especially during the breeding season.

Breeding biology

The mountain lark calendar is Bodenbrüterin. Their nest consists of three to four eggs.
