Bination

Bination is the power of a Catholic priest to celebrate in one day two Masses. In the early church services were celebrated only on Sundays and holidays. Over time, this has been gradually extended to other and eventually all weekdays. The multiple celebration in one day is allowed if otherwise ( for example, for lack of space ) could not participate in all community members or when a priest has to serve several communities. The triple celebration of Mass is called Trina Transportation.

In Canon Law states: "If a priest shortage exists, the local Ordinary can grant that priest just reason twice a day, even when a pastoral emergency requires it, on Sundays and holy days celebrate even three times. "
