Bioaugmentation

The term bioaugmentation is a strategy of restoration ecology and refers to the introduction of micro-organisms as starter cultures in soil material. The bacteria and other organisms function as a basis for drawing up a culture medium. The aim is to encourage an inanimate ground by means of a rinsing agent and the medium water for metabolism.

Is used in the process of renovation and cleaning floors. The contaminants may be different toxic nature.

Aquarists bioaugmentation is also known: Traditionally, a portion of sludge from a retracted pool is placed in a fresh -positioned; the microorganisms or their spores contained in the sludge used as starter cultures for the colonization of the new aquarium faster to achieve a balance. Today there are such starter cultures in the trade as liquid preparations.
