Biographisch-Bibliographisches Kirchenlexikon

The Biographical - Bibliographical Lexicon Church ( BBKL ) is a biographical reference work on the history of the Church, which was founded in 1975 by Friedrich Wilhelm Bautz. Today it is published by Traugott Bautz.

With over 20,000 articles on the dead the BBKL is considered an important biographical source of information about people in the church, but also the history of philosophy. In addition to describing the lives of people from the fields of theology, history, literature, music, painting, pedagogy and philosophy, with a presentation of the development of their work includes the BBKL bibliographies of the works of the persons as well as a selection of secondary literature.
