Farming guidelines

The economy of organic farms is based on a circular economy that does not use synthetic pesticides and synthetic chemical nitrogen fertilizer. Animals are kept appropriately. The guidelines of organic farming are more stringent than the EU - Eco-regulation. For example, are not authorized for organic and conventional farming systems in parallel operations, even if both types of crops are separated.

History

In Switzerland, the home builder movement was founded by the agrarian politician Hans Müller in the early 20th century. At this time, the local agriculture was in upheaval: the claim was " way from the traditional towards a more intensive chemical engineering, dependent on the industrial economy ." With the independence of supply means and an independent marketing Müller wanted to secure the livelihoods of farmers using the closed operating circuit. From this idea out the basics of bio-organic farming, which he developed together with his wife Maria and the German physician Hans Peter Rusch yet emerged before 1951.

From 1951, the contacts developed between the later founding families Sharp, Colsman, Sippel, Rinklin, Wenz, Müller, Teschemacher, Hoops and the couple from Switzerland. New ideas emerged at conferences, meetings and site visits on the Möschberg in Switzerland. 1971, was the registered association " organic vegetables ", he is the precursor of organic founded. The goal was to better enforce the implementation of these ideas and the representation of the interests to be able to. This team initially consisted of a total of 12 people. From " organic vegetables eV " then the " Promotion of organic- biological agriculture and horticulture " was formed. 1976 was chosen as the club name " organic association for organic- biological farming eV " and the trademark " organic ". 1981 organic had 200 members.
