Biological system

As an organ system is called a functional matching group of organs. As a synonym for " system " has become the term naturalized "apparatus". This grouping is based on the systematic anatomy.

Thus, for example, the digestive system (or digestive system ) summarized all the organs that recording (lip, mouth), crushing (teeth ), transport ( esophagus ), the enzymatic digestion and absorption of food ( gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas ) and excretion ( rectum, anus ) are not recyclable residual products.

This classification does not consider that it is of course numerous overlaps and interactions between organ systems are, so no organ system independent of the other acts. Thus, the digestive system is through vessels supplying blood ( cardiovascular system), controlled by nerves ( nervous system), the defaecation is through the abdominal muscles support ( musculoskeletal system ). In addition, it plays a role in defense operations and a portion of the absorbed nutrients is carried away by lymph. Another problem with the division into organ systems are multiple functions. So, for example, has liver multiple functions and could be expected to several organ systems.

In humans, one distinguishes the following organ systems:

  • Nervous system
  • Hormone system (also called endocrine system )
  • Cardiovascular system
  • Respiratory system
  • Digestive system
  • Urogenital System Urinary system
  • Gender system
  • Skeleton
  • Musculature
