Biratnagar is a city in southeastern Nepal Terai in the hill country on the border opposite the Indian Jogbani with 201 125 inhabitants ( 2011 census ) at a height of 63-78 m.

Biratnagar is after the capital Kathmandu, Pokhara Lalitpur and the fourth largest city in Nepal (see cities in Nepal ) and the most important economic center with good transport links, inter alia, both in the Kathmandu valley as well as the Indian Bihar. The town is also the district capital of Morang within the Koshi Zone and also benefits from the fertility of the region.
