Birenbach is a municipality in the district of Göppingen, Baden- Württemberg, 6 km from the town of Göppingen. Birenbach belongs to the marginal zone of the metropolitan region of Stuttgart.

Geographical Location

Birenbach lies underneath the mountain Hohenstaufen in the northern part of the district of Göppingen.

Community structure

To Birenbach include the village and the hamlet Birenbach Schützenhof ( also Waeschenbeuren ) and the Outbound town Bremen courtyards.

History

Birenbach was first mentioned in documents in 1414. The place was at that time divided among three landlords ( Württemberg, Habsburgs and the Göppinger Canons ). This division meant that only partially became Protestant at the Reformation in Württemberg in 1535 Birenbach. The Habsburg parts (which were given as a fief to the Lords of Rechenberg ) of the place remained Roman Catholic.

Mayor

In the mayoral election on 5 April 2009 Klaus Heininger (independent) was confirmed with 98.2 percent of the valid votes in a turnout of 46.85 percent unopposed for the second time in his office. Heininger took effect on 1 June 2010, the Office of the Mayor of Eislingen to his successor in office in Birenbach was on June 13, 2010 Frank Ansorge elected with 52.01 % of votes cast.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms of Birenbach is: In gold over a lowered bar a blue wave border rotbezungter black lion.

The black lion of some persuasive emblem in yellow represents the Hohenstaufen dukes of Swabia and recalls the former relationship of the local to the rule Buren -Hohenstaufen. The wave bar represents the stream in place names Birenbach. The Coat of Arms was established in 1958 and awarded with the blue and yellow flag on 18 August 1959 by the Ministry of Interior.
