The Birimian is a tributary of the Pra. It rises in the hills of Atewa Range and flows through the Ashanti Region and Central Region of Ghana. Together with the other tributaries of the Pra is the Birimian part of the second largest drainage system in Ghana.

Due to resource extraction in the area through which the Birimian flows, the river is significantly contaminated by the byproducts of commodity promotion. The Birimian is located in the main mining region of diamond mining.
