Birk Anders

Birk Anders ( born November 3, 1967 in Schlema ) is a former German biathlete who competed for East Germany.

Birk Anders won at the Junior World Championships 1986 in the sprint, the gold and the silver medal in the individual. At the Olympic Games in Calgary in 1988, he missed fourth in the sprint over 10 km just one podium finish. In 1989 he was able to win the title at the World Championships along with Frank Luck, André Sehmisch and Frank -Peter Roetsch with the GDR - Season 4 -by- 7 - 0.5 km. Another gold medal he won in the following year in Oslo in the team with Raik Dittrich, Mark Kirchner and Frank Luck. In the aborted due to heavy fog relay whose host was caught up in Kontiolahti, he still reached ten days later at the season end of 1990 the third place, this time again with André Sehmisch besides Luck and Kirchner.
