Birmingham is a city in Oakland County, Michigan, USA. Birmingham is an affluent suburb of Detroit, attracts a pedestrian-friendly and beautifully designed downtown, the trotters from the entire area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.4 km ² with 19,291 inhabitants in 2000.

The Michigan Highway 1 ( Woodward Ave ) connects as mostly straight road Birmingham with around 20 km away Detroit. In Birmingham itself a branch line was built in 1939, so that " Old Woodward " in the city center today could arise with restaurants, shops and cinemas.
