Birra Moretti

Birra Moretti is an Italian beer brewery, founded in the northern Italian city of Udine. Since 1996, the company belongs to the internationally oriented Dutch group of companies of the Heineken brewery.

History

Birra Moretti was founded in 1859 by Luigi Moretti as " Fabbrica di birra e ghiaccio " ( Beer and ice factory ). In 1860 the first bottle of Moretti " flagship " Birra Moretti went on sale. Birra Moretti 1996 Heineken bought the brewery and the old headquarters in Udine was abandoned; production was continued under the old company name in Milan. Today, Birra Moretti is exported to more than 40 countries.
