Bischheim, Bas-Rhin

Bischheim is a French town with 17,570 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It is located in the arrondissement of Strasbourg- Campagne and is the capital (French: chef- lieu) of the Canton of Bischheim.

Geography

The city lies on the River Ill and the Rhine- Marne Canal. Bischheim is a northern suburb of Strasbourg; to the Cathedral, in the center is four kilometers. There is a transport connection to the tram line B.

The neighboring municipalities of Bischheim are (from north clockwise): Hœnheim (Canton Bischheim ), Strasbourg ( Strasbourg- Ville Arrondissement ), Schiltigheim (Canton Schiltigheim ) and Niederhausbergen (Canton Mundolsheim ). Bischheim is a member of Template: Communauté urbaine de Strasbourg.
