Bismarck Tower (Bad Kissingen)

The Bismarck Tower on the Bad Kissinger Sinnberg in 1914 by architect Wilhelm Kreis from local Bismarck tower club, begun under the presidency of its founder, pharmacist Oscar Ihl. This association favored Bismarck and the Empire, and was in some competition to the Wittelsbach Club, who regarded Bavaria after the Empire as a sovereign kingdom and built the tower Wittelsbach in 1907.

The architect of the tower, Wilhelm Kreis, had already designed up to that different Bismarck towers, alone after his 1899 resulting type design "Götterdämmerung " 47 towers were carried out with only minor deviations. The Bad Kissinger Bismarck tower was built but after a new individual design.

The beginning of World War I prevented the completion of construction. Only on 2 December 1926, sponsored by the Movement for the completion of the tower, chaired by the spa gardens Director Wolfgang Singer, the topping to be celebrated. The outer completion took delayed by the global economic crisis, by the year 1930. In 1934 was created by the hand of Wolfgang Singer in the tower leading serpentine.

During the Second World War, the tower was used for aerial observation. In 1985 they started with the interior design. So the tower on June 21, 1986 was released to the public. It stairs, toilets and a viewing platform were installed.
