Bistrița-Năsăud County

Bistrita-Nasaud [ Bistritsa nəsəud ] is a Romanian county ( Judet ) in Transylvania ( Transylvania ) with the county capital Bistrita (German Bistrita, Hungarian Besztercze ). Its common abbreviation and the license plate number is BN.

The circle Bistrita-Nasaud bordered to the north and northwest by the Maramureş County, on the east by the county of Suceava, in the southeast and south by the county of Mureş and to the west by the Cluj county.

Demography

In 2002, the county 312 325 inhabitants and a population density of 58 inhabitants per km ².

In the 2011 Census the county had Bistrita-Nasaud 286 225 inhabitants thus a population density of 53 inhabitants per km ².

Geography

The county has a total area of ​​5355 km ², equivalent to 2.25 % of the area of Romania.
