Bitterfeld-Wolfen (Verwaltungsgemeinschaft)

The administrative community Bitterfeld-Wolfen was an administrative community in the district of Anhalt -Bitterfeld (Saxony -Anhalt). It was created on 1 July 2007 from the previous administration Bitterfeld and Wolfen communities. The reason for the merger was the merger of the cities of Bitterfeld and Wolfen and the communities Greppin, Holzweißig Thalheim and the new town of Bitterfeld -Wolfen.

On 1 July 2009, the municipalities Landsberg, Glebitzsch, Petersroda and Roitzsch retired from the administrative community and joined the church Sander village, which was renamed after Sander -Brehna.

On 1 September 2009, the municipality Bobbau was incorporated with the districts Bobbau and Siebenhausen to Bitterfeld -Wolfen, bringing the number of member municipalities was reduced to three.

Finally, on 1 January 2010 resigned from the communities Friedersdorf and Mühlbeck. They joined the church newly formed Muldestausee. The management community was thereby dissolved.

The management community had recently an area of ​​98.74 km ² and 49871 inhabitants (December 31, 2008).
