Biz Markie

Biz Markie ( born April 8, 1964 as Marcel Hall in Harlem, New York City ), known also as The Diabolical, is an American rapper and DJ.

Life and work

Biz Markie was one of the great beatboxer and MC -80s and a member of the Juice Crew, consisting of Marley Marl, MC Shan, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shanté, Masta Ace and Craig G. At his stage name he was supposedly from Otto von Bismarck inspire; Another inspiration was said to be the baseball player Biz Mackey.

His career as a hip hop musician, he started in 1985 as a beat boxer. 1989 he managed the commercial breakthrough as a rapper with the humorous piece Just a friend. The accompanying album, The Biz Never Sleeps reached gold status in the U.S.. The publications in subsequent years sold significantly worse only in collaborations with the Beastie Boys Biz Markie was perceived by the wider public. In the late 90s, Markie then devoted more DJing as rapping.

Biz Markie played in the movie Men In Black II, by Barry Sonnenfeld, a small supporting role as a postal worker, in which he presents his beatbox skills to the test.
