Bizen (Okayama)
Bizen (Japanese备 前 市, -shi) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Okayama.
Bizen is renowned for the production there Bizen pottery.
Geography
Bizen is located east of Okayama on the Inland Sea Seto Inland Sea.
History
The city of Bizen was established on 1 April 1971.
Attractions
In the city of two Buddhist temples are present: the Fukushō -ji (福 生 寺) and the Shinko -ji (真 光寺).
Waidani Azuchiyama Ikeda- ke basho (和 意 谷 敦 土 山 池田 家 墓 所) are tombs of the Ikeda clan.
Traffic
Near the city is the Sanyo Expressway. The National Road 2 leads to Osaka and Kitakyushu. Other national roads are the 250, 374 and 484
For trains on the JR Sanyo Main Line West to Kobe and Kitakyushu as well as the JR Ako Line to Aioi and Okayama. A Station on the Sanyo Shinkansen is located in Okayama.
