The Cape Bjargtangar in coastal landscape Látrabjarg on Iceland is the westernmost point of the island, and thus is regarded as the westernmost point of Europe. Cape Bjargtangar located in the north west of Iceland, in the Westfjords.
In his classification as " the most western point of Europe " is, however, of some smaller islands as well as the exception of Greenland, from which it separated even 360 km of the Denmark Strait. Just as Greenland the Cape is not geologically and tectonically already considered on the North American continental plate on which Europe.
Directly on the Cape are a lighthouse and a weather station.
