Bjarni Viðarsson

Bjarni Þór Viðarsson ( born March 5, 1988 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic football player who is under contract with KV Mechelen. He plays as an attacking midfielder.

Viðarsson came in the summer of 2004 by FH Hafnarfjörður by Everton FC. He spent most of the time in the reserve, but has been training recently with the A- team. Viðarsson was a substitute in the match against Newcastle United at St James Park in February 2006, but he did not play. A month later he signed his first contract as a professional.

On 5 February 2007, he was loaned for one month at the AFC Bournemouth. Viðarsson played at this club in the left and not as usual in central midfield. He scored a goal for Bournemouth, before moving to Everton again because of the injured Tim Cahill. There he made ​​his debut on 20 December 2007 for Everton as a substitute ( in 68 minutes off the bench ) in the UEFA Cup game against AZ Alkmaar.

On 29 January 2008 it was announced that Viðarsson going on loan at FC Twente until 30 June. On 15 May 2008 he was obliged of Twente.

In summer 2009, he moved to KSV Roeselare. His debut in the Belgian first division he gave at a 5:1 defeat against KAA Gent. A year later he moved to KV Mechelen.

National

2007 Viðarsson was included in the squad of the Icelandic national football team, and until now had a bet. Viðarsson played for Iceland already in the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 teams.

His first international game for Icelandic national football team he gave in February 2008 against Russia.
