Björn Again
Björn Again is a satirical musical performance that parodies ABBA. The name is a pun on the name of ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus and the slogan "born again" (English for reborn ). The latter is a swipe at the revival movement. Founded Björn Again in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia.
The show has become so successful in the 20 years since its inception in 1988, that she was a total of five performances in 2007 at the same time in different places of the world. Thus, it is now in the business longer than ABBA itself far, the approximately 4,000 shows were represented in more than 50 countries. Björn Again is seen today as the most successful presentation of its kind and is one of the most successful music exports of Australia.
Features of the show
Björn Again ABBA sets in portraying no great fidelity to the day. While the songs are played fairly true to the original, the rest of the performance is more of a parody. The ensemble entertains with each other and with the audience in a Swedish accent interspersed with English. The name of the ensemble reflect a playful attitude to ABBA. So the name of the original band members are humorous being targeted: Agnetha Falstart, Benny Ander Wear, Frida Longstokin, and Björn Volvo -us. This also becomes clear in the bass guitarist Rutger Sonofagunn ( Rutger Gunnarsson ) and the drummer Ola Drumkitt ( Ola Brunkert ).
Others
Björn Again has partly also covered other artists. When the band Erasure Abba -esque EP 1992 published, Björn Again responded with an Erasure -EP in the ABBA musical context ( Erasure - ish). The EP, which came in the British charts in 1992 at the 25 court, contained the classic Stop! and A Little Respect. In August 2009, they covered Metallica's Enter Sandman at the Sonisphere Festival. Björn Again has performed at many well-known rock festivals around the world, including Reading and Glastonbury, and has sold among other things shows at London's Royal Albert Hall and the State Theatre in Sydney. In addition, there is a great demand for private shows. For example, there were appearances on Bill Gates (Microsoft), the comedian Rowan Atkinson ( Mr. Bean ), and at the wedding of Russell Crowe.
