Black Diamond is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Citrus County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,101 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Black Diamond is located around 20 km north- west of Inverness and about 120 km north of Tampa.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,101 inhabitants distributed in 609 households. The population density was 112.3 inh. / Km ². 89.6 % of the population were white, 1.5% African American, 0.2% Native American and 7.8 % Asian Americans. 0.2 % were members of other ethnic groups and 0.7 % of various ethnicities. 1.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 62.1 % of all households lived in 11.0 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 80.4 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.10 persons and the average family size is 2.33 people.

8.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 5.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 18.5% were 40-59 years old and 67.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 66 years. 46.4 % of the population were male and 53.6 % female.

The average annual income was $ 107,500, while 1.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.
