The Norwegian Elkhound black is a recognized by the FCI Norwegian dog breed (FCI Group 5, Section 2, Standard No. 268). He is originally a hunting dog for elk hunting ( Elkhound ).

Description

The approximately 49 cm big dog is an extremely persistent and weather-beaten hound from the Spitz type. He has close -fitting harsh hair in solid black with some white.

Nature

The Norwegian Elkhound black to behave fearless, energetic and courageous without being aggressive.

Use

These dogs are used as a family dog, but also to hunt moose. Production tests according to the FCI Regulations are only available for the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland).
