Black Star (group)

Black Star is an alternative hip- hop duo from New York consisting of Mos Def and Talib Kweli.

History

Blackstar are part of the Native Tongues Posse which include Jungle Brothers, De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest belong. In 1998 they released their only album so far called Black Star at Rawkus Records. The album set the stage for successful solo careers of the two MCs. For the documentary Block Party from Dave Chappelle she contributed the song Born & Raised. In 2011, the reunion of the two musicians took place. On 25.11. the single " Fix Up " was released as the first single from the album the announced for 2012.
