Band History

Founding and first album ( 2001-2007 )

During her high school time, the singer and guitarist Chris Robertson and bassist Jon Lawhon met. Your leisure time spent with the musicians jam sessions, where in some cases even mitmachte her school principal. A little later completed the guitarist Ben Wells and drummer John Fred Young, son of Kentucky Headhunters guitarist Richard Young, the band. In 2006, the self-titled debut album was released on Roadrunner Records and peaked at number 90 of the U.S. album charts. Black Stone Cherry was produced by John Fred Young's father and mixed by Kevin Shirley, who has worked with bands such as Aerosmith and Iron Maiden. Alone in the U.S., the album sold over 160,000 times.

The band played in North America in the opening act for the Black Label Society and in Europe as the opening act of Whitesnake and Def Leppard. Folklore and Superstition and Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea (2008 to present)

The album made it to number 28 of the U.S. and even number 23 on the British charts. Also in Germany the band with space 54 could reach a chart position for the first time. The production was recorded in Nashville album Folklore and Superstition by Bob Marlette. Many sings about the folklore of the American South. Black Stone Cherry play several tours opening for Seether, Theory of a Deadman and Nickelback.

Music style
