Black Sunday (German Black Sunday ) is the second studio album by American hip hop group Cypress Hill, which appeared in 1993 on the label Ruffhouse and Columbia Records. With among other things, a triple Platinum certification in the United States for more than three million copies sold, it is the most successful album of the group to this day.

Cover design

Chart hits and singles

The album debuted in the 32th calendar week of the year 1993 to position 87 in the German charts. In the following weeks it rose steadily and recorded with number 36 the highest rank. Overall, Black Sunday held 27 weeks in the Top 100 in the U.S., the album climbed to the top position immediately and was able to hold a total of 56 weeks in the charts.

As singles were Insane in the Brain (DE # 93, 3 wk. ), When the Shit Goes Down, I Is not Goin 'Out Like That and Lick a shot decoupled. Insane in the Brain is still one of the most famous songs of the group and was awarded a gold record in the United States.
