Blackfire (Band)

Blackfire is a punk band from Flagstaff, Arizona, consisting of Navajo artists.

1988 founded the three siblings Jeneda, Klee and Clayson Benally, the band Blackfire, to draw attention with their music to the problems of their people. However, they themselves say that they knew no other music and therefore played punk. In early 2000, it also took on a number of songs with Joey Ramone. The band often performs with her father Jones Benally, who is a traditional healer.

Blackfire received three times the Native American Music Award in 2002 for Best Pop Recording for One Nation Under, 2004 as Group of the Year and 2008 for Record of the Year for Silence Is A Weapon.
