Blackletter#Textualis

The texture or Textura (Latin textura " web" ), also called grid font, one of the blackletter. It originated in northern France in the Gothic period, therefore it is often referred to as Gothic or Gothic font.

When there is a textura full refraction of the sheets. Since both the letter and the lines were written in Texturatexten with only a small distance, a very dark, accustomed to modern eyes pressure was usually difficult readable typeface - a " letter carpet ". Therefore, Textura has its name.

The Gutenberg Bible (1454 ) was set in Textura.
