Blade Nzimande

Bonginkosi Emmanuel "Blade" Nzimande ( born April 14, 1958 in Edendale ) is a South African communist politician and since May 2009, Minister of Higher Education.

Life

After visiting the Georgetown High School in Edendale Nzimande began in 1975 a degree in Industrial Psychology at the University of KwaZulu -Natal, from which he graduated in 1981 with a Masters in Industrial Psychology. Later he acquired there a Doctor of Philosophy and was followed in 1985 only lecturer at the University of Zululand in 1987 and then a lecturer in occupational psychology at the University of KwaZulu -Natal.

Nzimande, who since 1998 General Secretary of the Communist Party of South Africa, South African Communist Party ( SACP ), was appointed on 10 May 2009 to the Minister of Higher Education in the Cabinet Zuma after the election of Jacob Zuma as the new president of South Africa from this.
