Bladel

( Listen? / I ) Bladel is a municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant.

History

In the past, the villages around Bladel were isolated. Only the rail link Eindhoven - Reusel made ​​from the year 1897 that the remoteness of the area came to an end and settled industrial companies here. Above all, the cigar industry moved here per se. It emerged many small factories, some of which were also closed again over the decades.

1959 Bladel was reported as a development priority. This was enough money to attract new companies.

All locations that form the current municipality Bladel, have their own historical features. Bladel is written in this form since 1280, before it was written down as Pladella, Bladella and Bladele. The oldest mention of the name dates back to the year 922

Hapert 710 is mentioned under the name Heopardum for the first time.

In Hoogeloon is a native of the Middle Ages ( 1400 ) tower in which a bell dating from 1435 is located. It also found remnants of the Roman period in place during excavations in 1827. The ending- loon indicates Germanic Lauhun, the hill has meant.

Casteren, also called Kerk - Casteren and Castelre, is derived from the Latin word Castra. Here also objects from the Roman period have been found.

1219 Netersel was mentioned, but later the place was still Nederseel and Nethershem.

Sports

In the years 2002 and 2003 took place around Bladel Grand Prix Erik Breukink, a stage race for professional cyclists.
